Description

The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a full-time Staff Research Associate II to join the Geschwind Lab. You will provide technical support to multiple members of the research team on projects investigating the molecular genetics of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Primary duties include: * Coordinate biomaterial shipments with external collaborators * Extract DNA and RNA * Maintain biomaterial archives using a barcode-based inventory system * Prepare samples for downstream analyses * Perform PCR for genotyping * Data analysis * Maintain database of experimental results * Other duties as assigned Salary range: $27.09 -$43.58 Hourly



  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in related field * Minimum 3 years of wet lab experience * Experience with tissue culture or RNA (preferred) * proficiency using computer software applications including MS Excel, MS Word, Endnote, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, and other software packages * Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction and/or supervision. * Ability to manage multiple duties and tasks efficiently and effectively. * High level of reliability and dependability
