The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Alabama in Huntsville seeks candidates for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Organismal Biology starting August, 2023. The successful candidate will develop a research program with emphasis on organism-level processes, and working in any group of multicellular eukaryotes. Researchers who can productively interact with other members of the department will be favored. Faculty will be expected to engage in funded research, to mentor graduate and undergraduate research, and to teach at the undergraduate and graduate level. Teaching assignments will primarily be in organismal biology and related courses, including introductory courses. The Department of Biological Sciences is housed in the Shelby Center for Science and Technology with spacious, well-equipped teaching and research facilities. The University is only a few minutes away from Cummings Research Park, which is the 2nd largest research park in the United States with over 285 high technology companies, as well as the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology.  Huntsville is a mid-sized city located in beautiful north Alabama, an area that boasts a reasonable cost of living and ample recreational and cultural opportunities.
