Brief Position Overview
Great Falls College MSU is seeking an individual to join the team as a Biology Faculty member. This position provides classroom and laboratory instruction in Human Biology, Anatomy & Physiology I & II. The college offers many Health Science-related degrees, and this is required coursework. Teaching other biology courses may be possible, as well as the option to teach summer courses based on need and enrollment. Classes are taught in-person and online, with most taught in 8-week blocks. Position may include teaching evenings.

Salary Salary range of $42,711 - $51, 087 (or higher depending on experience and education) annually, commensurate with education, experience, and placement on the salary structure. This position is also eligible for a recruitment stipend.

General Statement

Great Falls College MSU is seeking an individual to join the team as a Biology Faculty member. This position provides classroom and laboratory instruction in Human Biology, Anatomy & Physiology I & II. The college offers many Health Science-related degrees, and this is required coursework. Teaching other biology courses may be possible, as well as the option to teach summer courses based on need and enrollment. Classes are taught in-person and online, with most taught in 8-week blocks. Position may include teaching evenings.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Developing and teaching courses relevant to the Montana University System General Education Core and prerequisite coursework for Health Science programs;
  • Teaching courses using traditional and alternative delivery systems;
  • Adjusting to a variety of teaching situations, including a wide range of student preparedness;
  • Committing to a focus on student success;
  • Participating in college committees and activities;
  • Pursuing tenure per the college’s tenure process;
  • Collaborating with colleagues, within the department and across campus.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Master’s degree in Biology or closely-related field or Master’s degree with at least 9 graduate credits in Biology or closely-related field
  • Experience in course development and teaching at a post-secondary level
  • Experience in laboratory course preparation and instruction
  • Demonstrated commitment to student success and ability to relate well to diverse students
  • Ability to use computers and instructional technology
  • Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work positively with teams and individuals with diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Teaching experience at a two-year college
  • Online teaching experience
  • Experience teaching in a compressed or accelerated non-standard semester schedule
  • Experience teaching with cadavers
