Description
As a Technical Outreach Coordinator within the Fort Collins Science Center, some of your specific duties will include: Working within a multi-disciplinary team to improve online and in-person customer experience, management of ecological monitoring and surveillance data, and use of online resources for national bio surveillance and wildlife monitoring programs; Collaborating with local, State, and Federal wildlife personnel to develop data standards and user stories for guiding technical requirements for online tools and applications; Developing informative training materials and consistent program-related content for a variety of outlets including websites, online videos, printed fact sheets, and guidance documents that cover technical guidance and advice on use of technical equipment as well as data management; and, Staffing technical working groups, leading a community of practice, and facilitating efficient in-person and online discussions with partnering organizations and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
For the GS-11: Possess one year of specialized experience at or equal to the next lower grade level. Examples of experience at the GS-09 level work may include: 1) participation in the planning and execution of studies on invasive species; 2) performing data management and analyses on a broad range of biological data; 3) conducting biological studies informing management decision for the control of invasive species; 4) communicating technical scientific concepts from biological studies through both written content and oral presentations to technical and non-technical audiences. For examples 1-4, assignments were made with the objectives, priorities, and deadlines defined. The work was planned and carried out independently in accordance with proven techniques, methods, and practices. Controversial use of approaches or modifications of standard procedures were typically discussed with a designated person before being carried out.
