Job Summary
Responsibilities
Leads and assists research projects that integrate multi-omic data (bulk RNA sequencing, single cell RNA sequencing, ATAC sequencing, genotypes), statistical tool development and computational analyses.
Manipulates publicly accessible, commercial, or proprietary genomic, proteomic, or post-genomic databases.
Provides professional support to staff or faculty members in defining the project and applying principals of data science in manipulation, statistical applications, programming analysis and modeling.
Applies basic application of computational tools and information technology to gather, analyze and visualize data in biology and biomedical research.
Interprets data analysis of high throughput genomics, proteomics and genetic data.
Performs other related work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Advanced degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
Experience in programming for bioinformatics with scripting languages such as Python, R, Java or C/C++.
Experience with next generation sequencing technologies such as STAR, GATK, samtools, PLINK and other tools.
Experience with single cell genomics analysis software such as Seurat, scanpy, ArchR, or similar.
Preferred Competencies
Knowledge of theoretical and applied statistics.
Knowledge of research techniques or methods.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to write research publications.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to work with teams of clinicians, biologists, bioinformaticians and/or biostatisticians to provide hands-on technical support.
