| Description of Work Unit | Colorado State University is located in Fort Collins, Colorado (approximately 65 miles North of Denver), is situated on nearly 5,000 acres of land, including the main campus, and a mountain campus (Pingree Park). The Bioenergy Project is expanding our research team to assist in the operation of a bench-scale bioenergy project located at our lab in Scott Bioengineering Building. We are working to develop a technology that production of bioenergy and fertilizer from waste products. |

| Position Summary | This unique opportunity is structured to provide a specialized resume building and learning opportunity for highly motivated STEM undergraduate/graduate students who would join our operations team as an intern. In this role, you will take part in data collection, maintenance, and operation of bioreactors and learn the basics of quality control, production planning, and water chemistry in a dynamic learning environment. The internship will be structured to meet the individual needs, availability, and skills of the selected interns. The task schedule for this project is largely flexible and can be planned around coursework or another position elsewhere. On-the-job training will be provided for all position duties, but familiarity with water quality tests, analytical instrumentation, plumbing, low voltage electronics, and control systems will be useful in this role. This internship will be largely project-based and a successful candidate for this position is likely to have a high level of internal motivation, common sense, and problem-solving skills. Motivated students may have the opportunity to collaborate on the publication of this research and be listed as an author of the work. |
