Job Summary/Basic Functions

Accepting applications for hiring pool for Bobby Verdugo Bilingual Peer Mentor and Tutoring Center. Positions include tutoring students in, but not limited to, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Anthropology and Sociology classes as needed. This is a Student Employee position for 3-20 hours per week and may start at $8.00 per hour. This position will require you to work with students reviewing target languages, subjects, and cultural lessons. May also include support time assisting faculty and staff with recruitment, retention, and community outreach. Computer knowledge is helpful as well as familiarity with office equipment. Availability for a variety of shifts, as fits with your schedule. Review of candidates will begin immediately and continue until position is filled.

Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending upon the needs of the unit, available sponsorship budget, and the qualifications of the candidate.

Special Instructions: Appropriate proficiency in oral and written English and target language(s) required. Must be enrolled in upper-division language studies classes or appropriate equivalency.
