 The Benefits Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the University Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit Plans. Benefit programs are offered to active faculty and staff, union represented employees, and retirees. The Analyst is responsible for the ongoing relationships with plan vendors and consultants. The Analyst is responsible for ensuring the stated benefits within the plan are fulfilled, maintaining and reconciling eligibility and enrollment, monthly premiums/administrative fees, deposits, and any refunds. The Benefits Analyst acts as the subject matter expert for the benefits for which they are responsible. The Benefits Analyst must be familiar and maintain compliance with current IRS regulations and retirement laws as they apply to the University’s plans. Questions or issues that cannot be answered by a Benefits Representative would be referred to the Benefits Analyst for review and resolution. As a subject matter expert, the Benefits Analyst participates in conducting new hire orientation and other types of group events where detailed information is presented. The position also involves completing surveys to determine the ongoing competitiveness of the University’s benefit programs. The Benefits Analyst is responsible for fulfilling their primary role in specific areas of benefits as well as other duties as required, which includes serving as a back-up to other team members.  
A minimum of two years of experience in the role of Benefits Representative or similar position in which the incumbent has had exposure to HR/Benefits.
