Job Description:

The Benefits Administrative Specialist is responsible for supporting benefits programs, and policies that  contribute to the recruitment and retention of employees. They also have a direct impact on the success of  Brownâ™s wellness program as they collaborate with the wellness team to implement a wide variety of programs  and initiatives. The Benefits Administrative Specialist provides general administrative support to the department  and processes financial transactions related to Benefits Programs and Work-Life/Wellness. They assist in all  Wellness program planning, communication, implementation, and promotion to support the overall wellbeing of all employees.  They ensure processes and systems are compliant with University, local, state, and federal rules and regulations.  As this position often interacts with a diverse, dispersed workforce, the Benefits Administrative Specialist must possess exceptional communication and customer service skills.

Major Responsibilities:

- Manage several benefits, programs, and policies, ensuring they are appropriately communicated to the community, all eligibility requirements are met, and timely payments are processed.

- Implement a wide variety of programs and initiatives in collaboration with the Wellness  team to provide tools to assist employees in adapting to and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

- Provide general administrative support and process daily financial activity.

Education and Experience:

⢠Associate Degree or equivalent years of experience and education and 3 years related experience.

⢠General HR/Benefits experience preferred.

Job Competencies:

⢠Knowledge of general office practices and basic financial procedures.

⢠Proficient with basic word-processing and spreadsheet software required. Word and Excel preferred.

⢠Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.

⢠Initiative and ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

⢠Ability to follow through, pay attention to detail, and organize workload.

⢠Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive  environment.
