Vaccination Requirement

The University of Nebraska Medicine Center (UNMC) requires COVID-19 vaccinations for all students, staff, and faculty. All employees must be fully vaccinated unless they have requested and been approved for an exemption based on a recognized medical reason, a sincerely held religious belief, or a pre-approved, 100% remote work agreement. Fully vaccinated means having received one dose of a single dose COVID-19 vaccine (Johnson & Johnson) or both doses of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccination series (Moderna and Pfizer).


As a prospective and/or a new employee at UNMC, you will be/are required to comply with the UNMC’s vaccination protocol. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers will have five (5) days from the date of hire to provide proof of partial or full vaccination or to request a medical or religious exemption. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers with proof of partial vaccination may have up to thirty-five (35) days from the hire date to be in full compliance with this policy. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers who receive a denial of a request for medical or religious exemption will be given five (5) business days from exemption denial notification date to provide proof of compliance with this policy. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers with no approved exemption who fail to comply with this policy will be separated.

OR
Currently enrolled in Master’s degree program with completion of the course sequence required for certification as a BCBA.

Required Experience 1 year

Supervised experience in applied behavior analysis (with Master’s)
OR
If currently enrolled in a master’s program, must have two years supervised practical experience in designing and implementing applied behavior analysis assessments and interventions.

Required License Yes
If yes, what is the required licensure/certification?

Certified or certified eligible as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board; or currently enrolled in a master’s program, completion of the course sequence required for certification as a BCBA.
OR
Eligibility for a license or provisional license for mental health services in the state of NE (e.g., PLMHP, LMHP).

Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Ability to lift 50 pounds if necessary.
2. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
3. Knowledge of normal/abnormal growth and development throughout the age coninuum.
4. Ability to provide, assess, interpret, and communicate age-specific data in response to treatment protocols
5. Ability to develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with other employees, patients, and their families as well as the general public, across all age groups, including but not limited to neonate, pediatric, and adolescent populations.
6. Ability to demonstrate professional behavior by adhering to departmental and organizational policies and procedures, and assuming authority appropriately.
7. Demonstrated competence across all age groups due to the diversity of the children and families served by MMI. Clinical care focus is on the neonate, pediatric, and adolescent populations, as well as some adults with disabilities.
