Audiovisual Production Technician II - WUIT

Position Summary
Fills in for the A/V Technical Support Specialist as needed. Mentors and trains junior staff and student employees. Works with faculty, staff and students to provide multi-media production and equipment support in auditoriums, classrooms, conference rooms, computer labs, etc. Works with little supervision and often required to handle unanticipated hardware or other logistics problems. Creative troubleshooting skills are necessary to ensure event support runs smoothly and efficiently. Also supervises and assists with training student employees who provide event and production assistance.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Serve as lead in support of live production/event capture/streaming/recording/presentations on Medical School campus.
• Provide training and assistance to faculty, staff and students in use of presentation software and hardware.
• Troubleshoot computer, projection and sound equipment and presentation problems.
• Facilitate virtual meetings/collaborations by providing support with available hardware and software across campus.
• Setup and perform testing of Video Teleconferencing Equipment for events.
• Fill in for A/V Technical Support Specialist.
• Act as a technical resource to junior A/V team members and student employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in university audio-visual/technology environment.
• Experience delivering training on use of technology.
• Practical knowledge of camera operation and associated equipment.
• General knowledge of streaming and web-conferencing technologies.
• Understanding of room audio-visual/technology environment.
• Knowledge of portable sound reinforcement and video projection equipment.
• Ability to adjust to changes in priorities and demands on time.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new circumstances.
• Good organizational skills.

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent plus one years’ experience with audio-visual and multi-media hardware and software systems.
• Working knowledge of video and web conferencing technologies.
• Experience with Video Teleconferencing Equipment.
• Experience with Windows and Apple computers/operating systems.
• Ability to adjust to changes in priorities and demands on time.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision with a high degree of accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service from first contact and beyond.

Salary Range
$22.92 - $35.49 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
