WAMU Audio Engineers are responsible for the broadcast and technical production of all programming at WAMU – from new and established podcasts to local radio programs to nationally-syndicated talk shows with hundreds of affiliates. WAMU is constantly developing new content initiatives across multiple platforms. WAMU’s Audio Engineers are the skilled craftspeople who transform editorial concepts into beautiful works of audio that can live on-air, online, locally, nationally, and internationally.
This position is responsible for technical production of live and recorded programs; for mixing, recording, and editing audio for internal and external clients for broadcast and digital distribution; for properly executing content additions and changes within the applicable content management systems; and for assisting with field production and support of in-studio and field talent as necessary. The scheduling and operational needs of this area may be additionally coordinated by a Lead Audio Engineer.
