In serving its mission of providing excellence in patient care and service in mental health, the department operates several clinical service lines, covering a full spectrum of psychiatric disorders across the life span. We provide these services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Job Duties
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is accepting applications for an Adult Psychiatrist to serve as a full-time faculty member at the title/rank of Clinical Assistant Professor/Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor/Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor/Professor, primarily in the Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic. This position offers an excellent blend of clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activities in a growing, multidisciplinary, and collegial Department. The successful candidate will provide direct clinical care in both community-based and academic settings; assist in the teaching and clinical supervision of medical students, residents, and other health professional trainees; collaborate with other faculty members in conducting clinical research, with the opportunity to initiate projects; and functioning as University faculty members, performing such duties as appropriate to academic rank and position.

Minimum Education/Experience
MD or equivalent degree from an appropriately accredited institution.
Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency training program or of an approved combined medicine-psychiatry or family medicine-psychiatry residency training program
Evidence of Board Certification in Psychiatry, OR eligibility for appropriate board certification as specified in the ECU Physicians Credentialing Plan. If not yet board certified, board certification will be expected in accordance with ECU Physicians Credentialing Plan.
Must be eligible for medical licensure in the State of North Carolina
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
Must be eligible for medical licensure in the State of North Carolina
Evidence of Board Certification in Psychiatry, OR eligibility for appropriate board certification as specified in the ECU Physicians Credentialing Plan
