Job Title:  BYU Athletics Senior Compliance Director

Job Summary

This position assists the Athletics Compliance Office and Associate Athletic Director for Compliance in maintaining institutional control in all aspects of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and respective Sport Conference rules and regulations compliance at Brigham Young University. This includes actively educating, monitoring and managing NCAA compliance of over 600 student-athletes and more than 200 athletic department employees, as well as external entities. In addition to working with assigned teams, this position will also assist the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance with sensitive and high-profile Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) matters. This position also oversees the Compliance Office's student employees and intern program.

Duties/Expectations:  

-Oversee institutional control for assigned sports with advanced complexity 

-Assist the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance in University and NCAA Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) efforts

-Oversee the Compliance Office's student employees and intern program

-Build and cultivate interpersonal relationships with respective sport coaches, administrators, student-athletes, prospective student-athletes, parents, boosters, businesses, and various other entities

-Oversee athletics compliance monitoring efforts

-Coordinate and approve official visits and National Letter of Intents (NLI) for prospective student-athletes. Evaluate initial eligibility status and work to find solutions to both domestic and international complex initial eligibility issues involving both academics and amateurism

-Complete NCAA, conference, and federal reports and waivers as assigned for approval and submission

-Maintain rosters and completion of NCAA Eligibility/Squad lists for assigned sports

What Qualifies You to Apply?

Required:

-Bachelor's degree

-5 years experience in NCAA compliance

-Willingness to uphold and live by the university's Honor Code

-All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend, which may be verified during the application process.

Preferred

-Juris doctorate or master's degree

-More than 5 years experience in NCAA compliance
