Athletics Grounds Turf Manager is responsible for all day to day operations, maintenance, report and agronomic programming of The University of Oklahoma Track & Field Facility. This position will also help at other athletic facilities when needed.
Essential Job Duties:
- Mowing
- Turf painting
- Event and team practice management
- Fertility program management
Job Requirements
---
Required Education: GED/High School Grad OR an equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND:
- 6 - 18 months sports field or golf course turf grass management
Skills:
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Customer service
- General turf grass knowledge including mowing, chemical and fertilizer applications, reel mower backlapping and sharpening, overseeding, sod replacement, irrigation scheduling and repairs.
Certifications:
- Valid Driver's License
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 85 lbs over their head,
- Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions including extreme cold, heat, rain, or snow,
- Must be able to sit or stand for many hours at a time.
Departmental Preferences:
- 1 to 2 years turfgrass experience in athletic field, golf course, or turfgrass industry.
- 1 to 2 years lawn or landscape, sports field, or golf course care
