Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills, including written and verbal.

Position Description:

The Director of Men's Basketball Administration for the University of Louisville Men's Basketball program provides high-level executive support, coordinates actions and proactively initiates, executes, and implements communications and special projects on behalf of the Head Men's Basketball Coach in support of the Men's Basketball program goals. Serves as a liaison between Head Men's Basketball Coach and Men's Basketball staff. Coordinates all visits, speaking engagements and clinics for the Men's Basketball staff; and assist with evaluation and recruitment of prospective student athletes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Promotes an atmosphere of compliance within the program through strict adherence to NCAA, ACC, and university rules and regulations through monitoring of program activities, active involvement and commitment to continuous rules education, timely submission of compliance-related documents, and immediate reporting of any knowledge of potential rules violation involving self or others.
  • Provides high-level executive support to the Head Men's Basketball Coach and assists in managing the day-to-day functions of the Men's Basketball Program. Oversees inbound communications, executive special projects, drives and accelerates the work of the Head Men's Basketball Coach, interacts with senior leadership and external coaches and strengthens critical relationships with student-athletes.
  • Serves as a liaison for the Head Men's Basketball Coach, to provide efficient, discrete and effective customer service to a wide constituency; including but not limited to, Senior-level Administration, Student-Athletes, Academics, Compliance, Training Room, Strength and Conditioning, Equipment Room, Recruiting, and other support staff.
  • Proactively seek and lead business development opportunities for the men's basketball program.
  • Partners primarily with the Director of Men's Basketball Operations and other key stakeholders on the internal management of the Men's Basketball Program and initiatives, as well as other urgent issues to include the assignment of substantive responsibilities and tasks, while assisting in executing key assignments and enforcing deadlines.
  • Takes initiative in triaging incoming concerns and requests and effectively and immediately forwards them to the proper individual for action, tracks and influences positive outcomes
  • Assists the Head Basketball Coach in responding to requests in tandem with the Director of Men's Basketball Operations.
  • Holds consistent (weekly or bi-weekly) meetings among all constituencies to ensure that all units are working as efficiently and effectively as possible and at a elite level.
  • Assists in providing a championship experience for the student-athletes.
  • Facilitate relationships with business and community leaders interested in supporting community relations initiatives for the men's basketball program.
  • Conducts all yearly staff evaluations for all non-coaching staff positions.
  • Identify and arrange motivational speakers for men's basketball student-athletes.
  • Seek partnerships with businesses and donors to invest in facility upgrades.
  • Serves as liaison between Head Men's Basketball Coach and Men's Basketball coaching staff in tandem with the Director of Men's Basketball Operations.
  • Organize and coordinate men's basketball staff meetings and team meetings.
  • Observes team meetings and provides feedback to coaches such as positive and negative feedback about pedagogy, content and classroom management.
  • Attends meetings; serves on committees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's in Business Administration or law degree
  • Experience in basketball operations, scouting, community relations and social justice initiatives.
