Athletic Trainer
Athletics Administration - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (23003706)
 Provides comprehensive care to student-athletes on campus and at game venues. Assists in supervision of all facets of the Athletics Training Program. Coordinates medical procedures and physicals.
Individual serves the Athletic Department as an Athletic Trainer/clinical instructor.

Additional details about Required Licensure/Certification Minimum 3 years experience required. Master's Degree required. certification by the Board for Athletic Trainers, Pennsylvania Athletic Training license and/or license eligibility, and CPR/AED/First Aid certification required.

Essential Functions Athletic Training Services: Provides comprehensive athletic training services to the sports assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer; Coordinates the overall organization and administration of the Fieldhouse training room; Provides injury prevention, management, treatment, and rehabilitation of all assigned athletes as directed by the Head Team Physician and/or consulting physician; Works in cooperation with the Head Athletic Trainer with regard to daily injury status and consultation and advising of nutritional matters; Assists with the coverage of the sports medicine clinic. Education: Works in cooperation with the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences; Teaches courses in the Athletic Training curriculum as assigned by the curriculum director; Supervises and evaluates student athletic trainers in the clinical setting; Assists the Head Athletic Trainer with the supervision and evaluation of Staff and Graduate Assistants assigned to the same training room; Maintains educational standards for approved programs as established by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association; Demonstrates involvement in athletic training and sports medicine through publications, public speaking, research, and membership in related professional organizations; Maintains certification and proper credentialing according to the guidelines set by the Board of Certification of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
Physical Effort Teaching, performing all athletic training functions in the training room and at games and practices. Standing, walking, bending and lifting at games and practices and in the training room. May be required to lift and/or support student athletes.
