Job Description

What We Are Looking For

The Athletic  Department at Baylor University is seeking a Athletic Trainer/Assistant Director of Athletic Medicine-Football to support the Baylor University's Mission.

A Master's Degree is required along with two years of experience and an active Christian faith are required. 5 years or relevant work experience preferred; Power 5 Football and/or NFL experience is also preferred.

All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. 

What You Will Do

Medical 

  • Provide medical care to student-athletes under the delegated authority of the team physician including facilitation and/or coordination of injury and illness care of student-athletes.  Provide practice, training, and competition medical coverage for the football program.

Communication 

  • Maintain communication with student-athletes, parents of student-athletes, team physicians, staff, and athletics administration.  Appropriately maintain medical documentation for the care of student-athletes while supporting confidentiality of protected health information.  Develop and maintain supportive relationships with external health care providers including athletic trainers, physical therapist, physicians and other providers supporting the healthcare of student-athletes. 

Operations

  • Assist in the maintenance and proper use of athletic training facilities in order to create an efficient and safe working environment. Oversite of practice and event set-up. Ensure proper trunk maintenance and packing.

Compliance

  • Maintain a working knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA, Big 12 Conference and institution rules and regulations and to communicate immediately any possible infractions of such rules and regulations to Athletics Governance and Regulatory Affairs staff.

Other Duties

  • Other duties as requested by the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics (or designee)
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission  
  • Ability to comply with University policies  
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
