Job Summary: The Athletic Intern will work with the Athletic Department staff and student athletes in an intern position. The incumbent will assist in the everyday duties as specified by the internship.


Additional Department Summary: The intern position will provide nutrition expertise to assigned teams, assist with Alabama Football Performance Nutrition, assist in managing nutrition students, nutrition operations, and work in concert with all performance nutrition staff members.


Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree of Science in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition, Food and Nutrition, or Exercise Physiology. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.


Preferred Qualifications: Registered Dietitian RD or Registered Dietitian Eligible RDE. Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, exercise physiology or related field. Experience in college or pro sports environments. Experience with diverse student population and understanding of multicultural issues.
