The Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine invites applications for a faculty position at the Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, non-tenure track, with focus in Clinical Chemistry. Clinical responsibilities will be in the clinical chemistry division of the core hospital laboratory. Additional opportunities will be available to grow/develop in other divisions of the core laboratory based on interests such as benign hematology, point-of-care, clinical laboratory support service which includes phlebotomy and preanalytical issues. Primary responsibilities will involve service and clinical teaching of residents and medical students. Scholarly study and investigation in the applicant's area of interest is expected.

Expected Salary:

Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience.

Minimum Requirements: Physician applicants must have an M.D. or D.O. degree with board certification in Clinical Pathology or AP/CP and possess or be eligible for a Florida Medical license. Non-physicians must possess a PhD degree and board certification or eligibility in Clinical Chemistry (American Board of Clinical Chemistry or National Registry of Certified Chemists). Relevant fellowship training is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in clinical laboratory management, technical problem solving, automation, laboratory information systems, interpretation of clinical tests (such as electrophoresis, mass spectrometry, chromatography), and clinical consultation is required. The candidate should have an established track record of peer reviewed work and desire for advancing knowledge in the field. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
