What We're Looking For

The Assurance Manager reports to the Senior Director of Accounting & Audit Policy within Financial Services.  This position provides oversight and testing to ensure compliance with operations deemed to be high risk, such as: Federal and state sponsored program funding, Federal Title IV funding, and intercollegiate Athletics operations.  This position monitors significant internal control risk areas, such as: procurement transactions, cash receipts, asset valuation, and reviews for segregation of duties (through process mapping). 

A Bachelor's degree, five years of experience, and a CPA is required.  A Master's degree and eight years of experience is preferred.  Experience with process improvements preferred.

A hybrid work arrangement will be considered based on day to day needs of role.

Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis. 

What You Will Do

  • Provide objective assurance and consulting services to departments and process owners across the University 
  • Monitor financial and operational goals of the organization and provide assistance to departments  
  • Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of department  
  • Assist department heads in operational and compliance processes 
  • Hire, train and evaluate financial staff  
  • Identify potential financial problems and risks and act when necessary 
  • Proactively identify opportunities to increase the effectiveness of internal controls
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with internal and external clients 
  • Manage established position control policy and procedures for department 
  • Assist in preparation of various reports and analyses 
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with policies and procedures 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
