Responsibilities*

Conduct research in collaboration with Neurosurgery on two projects to study endoscopic microdiscectomy device for efficient cartilaginous endplate removal in lumbar fusion surgeries and minimally invasive Intracerebral Hemorrhage (ICH) evacuation to remove blood clots for patients with traumatic brain injuries.  

Conduct research on a NIST-America Makes project to develop the US-based equipment and manufacturing knowledge for biodegradable N95 respirators.

Conduct research in collaboration with VA Ann Arbor for 3D reconstruction of arteriovenous fistulas for the inspection of abnormalities on patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD) and fistula maturation diagnosis based on ultrasound imaging.

Effort will include writing research proposals with innovative ideas, establishing research plans and analyzing the data, and documenting and publishing papers.
