Job Overview

Under close supervision from designated supervisor, assists in performing basic electrical work. Assist with installation, repair and preventive maintenance of electrical or telecommunications equipment.

Essential Functions

• Facilities Management
• Install and replace lighting fixtures, light bulbs, balasts, switches & fuses, assist in installation, repair & preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and assists in analyzing electrical equipment for safety.
• Perform minor custodial and/or general maintenance/laborer duties (e.g., assist in plumbing, carpentry, painting, groundskeeping, etc.).
• Maintain housekeeping conditions as prescribed by area.
• Perform related duties based on departmental need.
• Telecommunications (UCit)
• Assist with wiring, cabling, installing, repair and/or modifications of telecommunications equipment.
• May perform minor general maintenance/laborer duties.
• Maintain housekeeping conditions as prescribed by area.
• Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Minimum Requirements

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and to read and write. Must have a current valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

• May be exposed to electrical shocks. May be exposed to outside weather conditions.

 Shift: Varies    Starting Pay Rate: $18.04 per hour    Post Probationary Rate: $18.94 per hour

All qualifying applicants will be notified of the date and time of the written examination via email. Applicants that pass the written examination will be notified regarding next steps. All applicants must show valid photo identification to take the exam.
