The Office of Enrollment Management leads district-wide enrollment management planning and enhances the coordination of services that contribute to student recruitment, enrollment, retention, and graduation. Enrollment Management provides services and programs that are seamless, customer-friendly, student-centered, and efficient, and which help attain optimal enrollment and student satisfaction. Enrollment Management also operates the City Colleges’ Call Center to support inbound and outbound communications with students

 

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Reporting to the District Director-Admissions, the Assistant District Director – Admissions assists in working with college administrators to provide programmatic support relating to the development and implementation of enrollment management strategies to achieve the District’s enrollment goals.  Supports enrollment research and data analysis functions, utilizing student systems to analyze recruitment, admissions, and enrollment data and preparing reports for use by leadership in assessing district’s enrollment management strategies. Performs related duties as required.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Maintains a thorough understanding of CCC’s enrollment process, from recruitment through graduation.  Identifies opportunities for improvement in business strategies based on assessment of processes and related data.  
  • Reviews and revises strategic enrollment management plans and strategies
  • Participates in the development of new and improved processes, practices, and programs to support the District’s goals of increasing enrollment and retention, in collaboration with college and district level staff in Admissions, Recruitment, Testing Centers, and Call Center.
  • Works directly with college level enrollment staff in the review and assessment of current processes and procedures; introduces best practices and oversees their implementation to improve efficiency of enrollment operations and help achieve key performance indicators.
  • Supports and assists in the staffing of colleges’ recruitment events and college visits; makes presentations to prospective students to promote the value of CCC’s colleges.   
  • Guides admissions and enrollment functions, ensuring prospective students are provided the assistance and information needed for a seamless transition from the on-line application through the orientation, enrollment, and registration process.
  • Creates training materials for admissions staff and leadership team based on assessment of enrollment practices and business process improvements. 
  • Provides workshops to enrollment staff on various aspects of the enrollment process to address issues impeding an efficient and seamless transition process.

•     Monitors the college’s yield, conversion rates, testing results, orientation results, and enrollment predictions for new students. Prepares reports for the Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management and executive leadership relating to enrollment.

  • Supports colleges’ enrollment management efforts by developing familiarity with student systems and understanding the interrelationships between those systems.   Extracts data from systems to support enrollment management data needs.
  • Performs statistical analysis of colleges’ recruitment and enrollment data; creates reports and data visualizations to illustrate patterns and trends to support evidence-based decision-making. 
  • Provides research on issues relating to enrollment management initiatives and prepares reports for leadership team.
  • Serves as an interim for the college’s enrollment leadership team when a vacancy occurs.
  • Performs related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Three years of management experience involving enrollment, admissions processing, or orientation within higher education from a data driven perspective.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and improving admission processing, applicant yield, testing policies, or orientation programming.
  • Ability to coach, train, and develop on the enrollment funnel.
  • Demonstrated capacity for data analysis to support planning and decision making.
  • Understanding of enrollment management best practices in higher education.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work within a culturally diverse environment. 
  • Must be self-directed and innovative; able to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to work some evenings and weekends; some travel within District required. 
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
