The Assistant Director of Events Management and Stakeholder Engagement in the Bryan School of Business and Economics plays a vital role in engaging and energizing important constituents of the Bryan School. The position is responsible for the planning and execution of large-scale career and professional development events for students, as well as fostering meaningful connections with alumni, business/employer partners, and donors through signature events and other engagement activities. The position also provides events management support to other Bryan School events such as recruitment and social/networking events. The position collaborates closely with the School’s marketing team to develop effective marketing and communications plans, while also building and maintaining accurate records and databases. Desired outcomes include improved student engagement, student learning and employment, employer and corporate relationships, alumni participation, and donor engagement. All these events are designed to assist in building the brand of the Bryan School.
This position requires a highly engaging, extroverted personality with exceptional organizational and project management skills, contributing to the successful execution of events by managing tasks, timelines, budgets, and priorities. This position represents the business school with strong public-speaking capabilities and maintains a “service-oriented” customer focus, ensuring all events meet the needs and expectations of students, alumni, and donors while also contributing to the success and growth of the business school. This position works independently in a team-based culture of performance. The position may supervise student workers, as assigned.
The position also includes other duties as requested by the Assistant Dean of External Affairs or Dean of the Bryan School.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Graduate Degree in a related field; OR a Bachelor’s Degree with two years of related experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience in organizing and implementing successful business or social events for large audiences, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Strong organizational, project management, and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Highly engaging, extroverted personality with exceptional interpersonal, social, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong public-speaking capabilities.
- Successful experience with event budget management.
- Proficiency in event/email marketing software and database/CRM platforms.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-based, dynamic work environment.
