The Social Service Annex (SS Annex) is dedicated to empowering students who self-identify as in need of supportive services. The SS Annex offers prevention-focused and empowerment-based intervention support services to Temple students and the community at large—offering solutions and delivering effective, compassionate care that helps students achieve a better quality of life and a higher likelihood of degree completion.  The primary goal of social work is to enhance human well-being, help empower people in need and address social problems, promoting social justice and social change on behalf of clients. The SS Annex intends to work toward this vision in service of our students and the local community.

The Assistant Director of the Social Service Annex directs the administration of the Social Service Annex at campus location and community-based sites. The Assistant Director is responsible for day-to-day operations of the annex and assigned staff, including student interns. Specific responsibilities include: assist in the development and implementation of policy and procedures within the framework of TU CPH SSW policies; development of student focus agenda for annex activities and programming; and work with the community partners and inter-professional teams with CHP and TU; make policy and process decisions within the framework of annex responsibilities; represent the Social Service Annex to the internal TU community for programming and collaboration opportunities; supervise annex staff and student interns; oversee the operation of the Social Service Annex site and offsite annex partnerships; represents the Social Service Annex to the external community for programming and collaboration opportunities; assign staff duties; plan and run staff meetings; develops staff opportunities for training and monitors implementation of annex locations; cultivate and sustain relationships with a diverse group of community partners; manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adhere to timelines; exercise discretion and tact in dealing with sensitive situations; develop, learn and implement key policies; and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Perform other duties as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
MSW with at least four years post MSW experience with at least one-year direct experience in university level work. Must have prior management experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

Required Skills & Abilities:
*Must have knowledge or are willing to learn university administrative processes and interact with multiple university administrative units 
*Must have skills with technology such as Zoom, Microsoft teams, Outlook, Canvas, Instagram, newsletters, etc
*Demonstrated organizational skills; ability to multi-task/manage several projects
*Demonstrated flexibility, creativity, strategic-thinking skills; willingness to take initiative and learn.
*Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively and appropriately interact with a diverse group of stakeholders and constituents
*Strong written and oral communication and customer service skills
*Exceptional attention to detail regarding all job responsibilities
*Consistent professional presentation and communication

This position is full-time, 40 hours per week and requires a background check.

Please note this position will temporarily work remotely, the duration of remote work will be at the discretion of Temple University and the department.
