Job Description
This position will act as primary event manager at assigned athletic events (acting as liaison for officials and visiting teams and supervising event staff, ushers, ticket takers, ball kids, public address announcer). Collaborates and communicates with numerous athletic department areas and campus partners including athletic communications, fan experience, facility operations, video services, ticketing parking and concessions to ensure the successful presentation of events & championships. Assist with the preparation of OSU athletic events, championship and tournaments and large stadium concerts or events (can include, but is not limited to contacting visiting teams and officials, preparing pass lists and timing protocols and facility set up). Assist with the preparation of bidding materials for NCAA, Big Ten and other conference tournaments and events. Attend weekly event meetings, Event Management and work on other special projects and assignments as determined by supervisor. This position works in a fast-paced, creative and collaborative environment where change is embraced and innovation is encouraged.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications
3-5 years experience in event management required. Extensive championship hosting experience desired. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse staff and customer base, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and events desired.
