Increases alumni donor retention both on a short-term annual basis and a multi-year, long-term basis. Develop a comprehensive operational plan annually, which includes measurable performance objectives. Ascertains and implements aspirational peer best practices for alumni donor retention and stewardship planning and operation. Manages expenditures and budget for this position, ensuring cost-effectiveness within the assigned budget. Collaborates with the senior development director and other staff to develop stewardship strategies that enhance constituent relationships and increase the likelihood of contributions. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures. The Assistant Director of annual giving serves as the strategic partner and facilitator for an omnichannel annual giving program, grateful patient and alumni programs in partnership with the Sr. Director. The Assistant Director will work in partnership with the Sr. Director to identify how to utilize and optimize annual giving scores and multi-variable predictive indices to ensure donor acquisition, retention, and revenue growth. The Assistant Director will partner with colleagues to establish a solicitation and stewardship program for the acquisition and retention of specific constituencies. In conjunction with the Sr. Director, the Assistant Director will establish a robust and data-driven solicitation strategy that supports the mission and priorities of the institution. In doing so, the Assistant Director will manage vendor relationships and establish key performance indicators and other metrics to measure and grow donors and dollars. The Assistant Director will partner with a data analyst and the Sr. Director of Annual Giving to ensure that data segmentation of targeted audiences is pulled on time, correctly, and has established measurements. The leader will also assist in managing the annual giving solicitation calendar for their program area. In conjunction with the Sr. Director, the Assistant Director will work on various solicitation strategies including, but not limited to, omnichannel campaigns, mail, emails, crowdfunding and giving days such as Giving Tuesday and Give Miami Day. Along with all colleagues within medical development, the Assistant Director will develop an expert understanding of donor and patient-giving regulations, including federal medical regulations, such as HIPAA, if applicable. The Assistant Director will proactively maintain knowledge of current trends in the annual giving field by participating in peer networking and professional education opportunities and monitoring appropriate trade publications, blogs, and websites.
