Note to Applicants: This is a Divison Only Search. You must be a current UA employee working in the Athletics Division to be considered.


Job Summary: The Assistant Athletic Director will be responsible for the overall management and daily operations of assigned areas, which includes the supervision and delegation of work assignments.


Additional Department Summary: This position will organize and supervise all event management efforts for the Athletics Department. Will serve as the primary contact for all internal and external agencies/groups and will develop, conduct, and execute all SEC and NCAA Championships hosted by the University of Alabama Athletics Department.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 5 years of work experience; OR a Master's degree in a related field and at least 3 years of experience.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Athletic event management experience at a major comprehensive university or other relevant experience. Knowledge and comprehension of NCAA and SEC policies and procedures.

Valid Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.


Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work successfully in a multi-task environment. Knowledge of personal computers and standard software applications. Effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations successfully. Strong, positive interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Sports Administration preferred.
