Job Summary
The Associate Vice President, under general direction, directs the Office of Assessment, Research, and Planning and departmental operations, initiatives, and activities. Oversees the division’s business or other major functional areas activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Directs Office of Assessment, Research, and Planning and departmental projects, programs, initiatives, and operations
Assists the Vice President in Academic administration. Advises the Vice President on internal and external issues affecting the division operations. Serves as a member of the divisional leadership team
Collaborates with internal and external entities to facilitate initiatives, and coordinates special projects as assigned by the Vice President
Researches and identifies funding opportunities for division programs and initiatives
Drafts and administers relevant University policies, regulations, and rules. Monitors and analyzes state and federal legislative issues
Directs and assesses continuous improvement efforts
Leads the development and implementation of the division’s strategic plan, establishing division goals and objectives
Represents the Vice President, division and University internally and externally.
Assumes additional supervisory and management responsibilities in the Vice President’s absence
Develops, administers, and advises the Vice on the annual budget process and provides guidance to division units

Additional Responsibilities
Provide logistical support and relevant, reliable information for institutional assessment, evaluation, accountability, accreditation and planning to Texas A&M International University.
Develop, with academic and administrative units, program outcomes and the analytics used to improve comprehensive program assessment.
Oversee the production of reports required by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the Federal Government (IPEDS).
Supervise the Office of Institutional Assessment, Research, and Planning
Serve as liaison to SACS/COC, the Texas Higher Coordinating Board and the Texas A&M System for accountability and effectiveness.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education – Bachelor’s degree or higher in public administration education policy, higher education administration, assessment and evaluation or statistics, or related field.
Experience – Ten years of progressively responsible management experience, including 3 years’ supervisory experience.
An equivalent combination of education or experience may be considered.
Preferred Requirements
Master’s degree or earned doctorate in public administration education policy, higher education administration, assessment and evaluation, statistics or related field
Eight years of progressively responsible management experience, including 3 years’ supervisory experienced
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
Word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to:
Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Knowledge and Abilities
Strong planning and organizing skills.
Effective leadership skills.
Licensing / Professional Certification – None

Salary: $118,000 (Annually)
