General Responsibilities


To be a collaborative leader within the Health System Chief Medical and Quality Officers structure.  To be a strong communicator and utilize years of experience in implementation of quality improvement programs.  To directly work with our network quality structures and leadership for facilitating improvement of clinical care, patient experience and physician engagement.

 


Key Duties & Responsibilities


 

1.       

Leads enterprise-wide clinical quality and clinical performance improvement.  Identifies clinical quality improvement priorities by network site.  Defines annual clinical quality plan by network site.  Leads clinical quality improvement initiatives for network sites.  Provides onsite collaboration with local quality infrastructure to support clinical quality improvement.

 

2.       

Supports quality-related accreditations and Centers of Excellence certifications.  Identifies and recommends quality accreditations and COE’s for network sites.  Supports accreditation process for network sites.  Identifies publicly reported data and the impact to enterprise sites.

 

3.       

Leads clinical quality improvement education across the network.  Facilitates clinical quality Improvement education and training.  Facilitates the spread of evidenced-based best practices.  Facilitates quality programs that promote STEEEP principles (Care that is Safe, Timely, Effective, Efficient, Equitable, and Patient-centered).  Identifies and collaborates on telehealth and clinical simulation opportunities.  Works with existing UAB infrastructure in these areas:  TeleStroke, TeleICU, NP driven glycemic control opportunities and remote patient monitoring.

 

4.       

Facilitates enhanced clinical relationships across the network. Initiates and leads opportunities to strengthen network relationships.  Facilitates multi-departmental and multi-institutional collaboration around quality and performance initiatives.  Oversees network support (relationship building) and implementation (clinical).  Partners with network enterprise sites to foster local community resources in the care of the patient population.  Collaborates with leaders to facilitate strategic direction for the overall delivery of patient care across the continuum.

 

5.       

Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

Bachelor's in Nursing and a Master's or appropriate certificate in Clinical Quality Improvement and ten (10) years of experiences with quality improvement implementation with a successful track record.  Work experience may not substitute for education requirement.
