Posting Summary

Associate Research Professor in the Department of Mathematics to work with Professor. Mischaikow’s research group to carry out interdisciplinary research in nonlinear dynamics over a broad range of topics. In association with Professor Mischaikow this position will involve collaborative research with groups from other universities, mentoring postdoctoral fellows, assisting graduate students research efforts and directing undergraduate research projects. Depending on funding and departmental need the candidate will be capable of teaching undergraduate and graduate courses for the School of Mathematics.

Candidates for this position should have a Ph.D. degree and show outstanding evidence of research in applied and computational mathematics and teaching in mathematics. The required application material are as follows: (a) curriculum vitae, (b) three letters of recommendation at least one of which addresses teaching, © a research statement, and (d) a teaching statement.


Minimum Education and Experience

PhD required, 10+ years of academic research.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Dynamical Systems, Conley Theory, Topological Data Abilities Analysis, Computational Homology, Rigorous Numerics Experience in coding in C++, Matlab, and Julia Experience in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in mathematics experience in directing graduate and/or undergraduate research.
