Organizational Unit Overview
The primary purpose of the Office of the Registrar is to assist students with academic progress to meet their education goals; develop and maintain accurate, permanent, confidential records, and administer University policy and procedures. Through an emphasis on teamwork, problem solving, and planning, the Office of the Registrar’s staff will provide courteous and timely service to our constituents. The Office of the Registrar continually develops processes and refines service to support University enrollment goals, registration, grading, graduation and other academic services needed by current and former students.
Job Duties
The Associate Registrar for Technology works to strategically plan and develop the goals and direction of the Office of the Registrar and is responsible for implementing the policies and procedures set by the University and the UNC-System Office. This position works with other service units of the University to coordinate the functional activities of the campus. This person is responsible for the hiring, training, and work performance evaluation of the administrative, technical, and clerical staff that reports to the position (10 +). This person supervises personnel who are responsible for transfer articulation, catalog compilation, room scheduling, diploma and commencement program compilation, graduation, athletic certification, withdrawals, office management, etc.  
The Associate Registrar oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance processes for systems and databases that drive data in Self Service Banner, Degree Works, Appworx, Acalog, etc.  The Associate Registrar oversees the automation of updating student records, grading, and graduation processes. This position manages security requests for banner student, and Xtender request for the Registrar, Admissions, Cashiers, and other offices on campus.  The Associate Registrar for Technology is the operational authority on fixed tuition cohorts. This position serves on multiple committees that oversee data management standards, enterprise risk management, and system office upgrades. Position is contingent upon available funding.
 
 
 
Minimum Education/Experience
A master’s degree with experience working in higher education.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Five years’ experience working in a registrar’s office. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of complex database systems, knowledge and experience in the enforcement of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
