Description

The Department of Physics at the University of Chicago, together with research institutes and centers including the Enrico Fermi Institute and the James Franck Institute, is conducting a search at the rank of tenured Associate Professor. The search is open to all subfields of experimental condensed matter physics, including initiatives in quantum science, atomic molecular and optical physics, and hard condensed matter.  Department members play leading roles in a wide range of research areas; details can be found at the Department website . The University of Chicago has an inherently crosscutting and interdisciplinary structure that is supportive of newly emerging research opportunities.

Duties include conducting an independent research program, and teaching and advising undergraduate and graduate students. Review of applications will begin on November 4, 2022 and will continue until the position is filled. Expected start date is in the 2023-2024 academic year.


Qualifications

A Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field is required.
