The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Louisville, School of Medicine (SOM), is seeking highly motivated emergency medicine residency-trained, board eligible/ABEM/ABOEM physician for a full-time core faculty position at an open rank.  Faculty salary and benefits are competitive. Preferred- Ultrasound Fellowship trained and Assistant/Associate Program Direction.

The University of Louisville Hospital is a 404 bed, primary adult teaching hospital for the UofL, SOM. This acute-care tertiary facility is the region's only Level 1 adult trauma center, comprehensive stroke center and adult burn unit. The emergency medicine department has 43 patient treatment areas in a 30,000 sq. ft. space with an annual census of around 55k-60k patients. UofL Department of Emergency Medicine also staffs the UofL Jewish Downtown and Medical Center South. These 2 facilities see a combined census of over 60,000 patients.

The University of Louisville, Department of Emergency Medicine is committed to excellence in clinical care, education, and research. The Department consists of 26 full time, 13 part time, and APPs. It maintains a 36-resident program and has Fellowships in EMS, Leadership/Administration, and Ultrasound. The Department also provides medical direction for a number of EMS agencies, air medical programs, and Louisville Metro Police and Fire Departments.
