The Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Rutgers, The State University
of New Jersey, New Brunswick (Busch Campus), invites applicants for a tenure-track AssociateProfessor position. The position requires a PhD degree in molecular biology or a related field by the appointment date (9/1/2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate students, and leading a creative research program in the general areas of Molecular Biology or Biochemistry. Applicants who study chromatin remodeling via genomics approaches are especially encouraged to apply. The research program of the new faculty member will bolster the Department’s existing strengths in the study of cancer, aging and gene regulation. The MBB Department is part of an expanding program within the Division of Life Sciences on the Busch Campus, where the Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine, the Waksman Institute, and the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School are also located.
Faculty members also work closely with the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Rutgers Child Health Institute. We have strong consolidated, interdepartmental graduate programs in Molecular Biosciences. The campus is located within one hour of New York and Philadelphia in a highly desirable area. The position is highly competitive with regard to start-up funds, laboratory space and salary.
