Position Description Summary:
The Professional Psychology Program at George Washington University invites applications for a non-tenure-track, associate to full professor position as Program Director beginning as early as summer 2024. Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. We are a university-based APA-accredited clinical Psy.D. program characterized by a psychodynamic focus, collegiality and a commitment to preparing the next generation of clinical psychologists. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee program operation and development aided by a Deputy Director, eight additional faculty members, three postdoctoral fellows, two clinic staff and two administrative staff. Teach three 3-credit courses per year, plus clinic teaching and supervision. Conduct original scholarship. Program administration and service to the University.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have completed a doctoral degree from an APA or CPA accredited psychology program. Licensure or immediate license eligibility as a Psychologist in the District of Columbia is required. Applicants are required to have a record of teaching excellence as evidenced by letters of reference, teaching evaluations or assessments. Applicants must have had training in psychodynamic approaches to treatment and research. Applicants must have experience supervising doctoral level scholarship and have clinical practice experience using psychodynamic and/or psychoanalytic approaches. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to scholarly research and discovery as evidenced by a record of scholarly presentation and publication.
