Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a part-time tenure-track Associate Professor / Professor, Director of Physical Therapy to promote the mission of the School of Public Health by being responsible for the inaugural start of DPT and application for CAPTE accreditation.
This successful candidate will be a driven, visionary leader overseeing program development organization, administration, planning and hiring the faculty who will teach within the program. This will be a key leader for the institution to grow new programs in health professions that will increase enrollment, increase revenue, and reinforce brand identity in the health professions. The program will meet the needs for health care professionals for both urban and rural Nevada.
The candidate will be part-time, core faculty member holding the rank of Associate or Full Professor. This is a part-time position that may transition to full-time, core faculty appointment with administrative release time to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the program Director.
Required Qualifications
An Academic Ph.D. or DSc in Physical Therapy or closely related field
Licensed Physical Therapist who holds an active, unrestricted PT license in any United States jurisdiction and/or in Nevada
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with CAPTE recommended – with initial or reaccreditation self-study preparation
Graduate-level teaching
