The Division of Cardiovascular Health and Disease, in the Department of Internal Medicine, at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine, invites applications for a faculty position as an Associate Professor, Research Tenure Track. The Division provides exciting challenges, and an opportunity to build a nationally, and internationally recognized research program.


Successful candidates are expected to incorporate state-of-the-art, interdisciplinary approaches in developing novel ultrasound-based therapies and ultrasound image-guidance for therapies to build upon the division’s existing strengths, develop a high-profile program of scholarly research, and excel in teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate level. All faculty are expected to participate in the division’s teaching mission of graduate, medical and undergraduate courses, and demonstrate a commitment to service within the university and at the national level.


The successful candidate will join a collaborative and diverse division. The Division houses cutting-edge facilities that support research, and are further supported by numerous core facilities within both UC College of Medicine and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.


Qualifications : Ph.D. with experience in Applied Physics or Biomedical Engineering, specifically as it relates to application of medical ultrasound within cardiovascular health, with a minimum of 5 years as an Assistant Professor in a University setting. A demonstrated record of high-quality peer-reviewed publications is essential. Candidates who demonstrate a strong record of securing external funding, a sustained record of excellent research productivity, and an outstanding national reputation in their field are preferred.
