About the Opportunity
This position will serve as associate producer for various PBSNC productions as assigned. This position provides creative, technical, and field production support for segment content, entire programs or series. This position will research, produce, write, edit, and/or deliver and manage broadcast television and digital platforms for content assets and programs. This work ranges from involvement with concept, content, pre-production research, coordination and planning, production, and post-production activities, such as digital and broadcast platform delivery. This position will collaborate with teams and staff across the organization and will provide critical support across the Lifestyle, Culture, History vertical. This position will serve as a representative of PBSNC's Content division in partnership projects, serving the needs of both the partner and PBSNC.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, consistent with System Office policy. UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

About the Team
PBS North Carolina's Content division provides North Carolinians with national and local programming and services of the highest quality, using media to educate, inspire, entertain, and express a diversity of perspectives.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills
High school diploma or equivalency and four years of progressive experience in a broadcast television, radio and emerging media environment, of which one year is supervisory; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Competencies
Knowledge – Technical: Working knowledge of the use and operation of a complete range of broadcast media equipment used to produce television, radio and emerging media programming. Creativity: Ability to recognize, determine, develop and/or manage the appropriate artistic techniques and talents required to produce television, radio and emerging media programs. Communication: Ability to select and effectively convey standard technical information, administrative information and artistic and aesthetic concepts verbally and in writing when working with internal staff, team members, management, clients and the public. Planning, Organizing and Managing Work and Work Processes: Ability to work independently, as a manager, or a team member and apply judgment in developing, organizing and executing plans and moderately complex projects. Teamwork: Ability to effectively lead and manage work activities by sharing expertise, providing guidance, knowledge and information to team members in order to achieve project goals. Customer Service: Ability to take initiative and action that will ensure customer satisfaction in all phases of operation
