The University of North Georgia is seeking qualified, competent applicants for the position of Associate Presidential Ambassador to join a knowledgeable, well-trained, and customer service-oriented team for University Events. The position is housed within the Division of Strategic Communications & Marketing and will be under the supervision of the Associate Director of University Events. The position is for student employees and is limited to a maximum of 25 hours per week.

  • Report to the Associate Director of University Events. 
  • Provide high quality and discreet customer service to individuals of all ages as well as high level constituents.
  • Assist with the processes for the Price Memorial Reception space, including greeting and directing guests to the appropriate office, answering and directing phone calls, making on-campus pickups/deliveries, providing general support to visitors, liaising with executive assistants and cabinet members to handle requests and queries, and other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Utilize the Series25 software to assist the University Events team in managing event reservations across all 5 campuses.  
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications to prepare spreadsheets, signage, reports, and planning materials as needed.
  • Enforce all policies and procedures connected to the Price Memorial Reception space and University Events.
  • Participate in a bi-weekly staff meeting. 
  • Assist at all commencement ceremonies throughout the academic year.
  • Provide event support to the Office of University Events and the Office of the President, as requested.

  • Ability to communicate with individuals of all ages as well as high level constituents. 
  • Ability to work with discretion and protect sensitive information.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work and multitask.
  • Willingness to learn and/or hone effective organizational and leadership skills.
  • Applicants should have an enthusiastic approach to delivering high quality customer service and be professional at all times.
  • Willingness to spend adequate time with the program.
  • Applicants must have the ability to attend staff trainings/meetings and have a willingness to work at least 5-8 hours per week. 
  • In addition to the 5-8 hours per week, applicants must work all commencement ceremonies and assist with special events throughout the academic year. 
  • Applicants must be able to lift and/or carry a minimum weight of 35 pounds.
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in clerical work, the fundamentals of office etiquette, and providing customer service is preferred but not required.
