Overview
The Associate Photographer, will play a key role in capturing high-quality images to meet the needs of the Office of Communications. Working closely with University photography, you will assist in various aspects of the photography process, from setting up equipment to editing photos. This role requires a keen eye for detail, creativity, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position is temporary.
Responsibilities
- Assist in setting up and preparing photography equipment for photo shoots.
- Collaborate with University photographer and campus partners to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Capture high-quality images in various settings, including studio and on-location shoots.
- Ensure proper lighting, composition, and framing of photos.
- Edit and retouch photos as needed to meet quality standards.
- Organize and maintain photo files and archives.
- Assist in managing photography schedules and logistics.
- Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continuously improve photography skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in photography, visual arts, or a related field is preferred but not required. Relevant experience and a strong portfolio will be considered.
- Previous experience as a photography assistant or similar role preferred.
- Proficiency in operating photography equipment, including cameras, lighting, and accessories.
- Strong understanding of photography principles and techniques.
- Proficiency in photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Portfolio showcasing previous photography work is preferred.
