The School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites nominations and applications for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. These nine-month faculty positions will start either January 1 or July 1, 2020.
Candidates should have a considerable record of external funding, high-quality publications, and be committed to teaching and mentoring. As the School aims to advance equity, transform systems, and improve lives, we seek applicants with a demonstrated capacity to conduct rigorous research focused on informing, designing, developing, implementing, and/or evaluating social interventions and/or social policies.
Successful applicants will be joining a community of active scholars with a vision to be the leading school of social work for accelerating discovery and the translation of knowledge into action. Intervention research and implementation science cut across the School’s teaching, research, and engagement activities. A commitment to working in collaborative research teams is highly valued. We are particularly interested in applicants with backgrounds and expertise in child well-being, behavioral health, criminal justice, older adults, and vulnerable populations to join our scholar groups already working in these areas. Expertise in working with cutting edge research methods are also desirable.
Successful candidates at the Full Professor rank will be considered for the Tate Distinguished Professorship for Children in Need and the Johnson-Howard-Adair Distinguished Professorship of Social Work, which are permanent appointments that provide annual research funding. These two professorships are reserved for experienced, distinguished scholars who have an extensive history and planned trajectory of cutting-edge, innovative, and significant scholarship.
Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience.
