ROLE of the POSITION - Associate Business Systems Analyst-Functional Architect

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Student Information and System Design, the Associate Business Systems Analyst/Functional Architect provides information technology consultation and enterprise application support for the Student Administrative component of the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions software, including serving as a functional specialist for one or more Campus Solutions modules including, but not limited to Admissions and Campus Community, Student Records, Financial Aid, and Academic Advisement.

The Associate Business Systems Analyst/ Functional Architect will have shared responsibility for the oversight of all activities related to the maintenance, development, and modification of the MyUNLV PeopleSoft Student Administration module and will work closely with end users/product owners, management, technical staff within UNLV's Enrollment & Student Services (ESS) and Office of Information Technology (OIT) departments, and the equivalent counterparts within the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE). The incumbent will perform professional-level duties in the analysis, evaluation, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of the assigned Campus Solutions module(s). The incumbent will research application software functionality; assess user needs; document functional requirements; install and configure application software; write documentation and user guides; train functional users; liaise with OIT and/or NSHE to resolve reported problems; apply technical judgment to problems and assist with developing practicable and thorough solutions using effective communication and listening skills.

The Associate Business Systems Analyst/Functional Architect also serves as a liaison between the functional users and the technical staff and will collaborate with the technical team to ensure the functional specifications coincide with operating systems, by identifying and addressing emergent needs and participating in system projects by providing business-specific knowledge, investigating technology solutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). In addition, a minimum of 1 year of related professional experience is required for the Associate-level and a minimum of 2+ years of related professional experience is required for the Journey-level.

Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

Required

  • Basic knowledge student information systems/technologies

  • Competence in the administration, configuration, and stability of technologies as secondary or backfill responsibility

  • Knowledge of digital transformation strategies and how to apply those strategies when completing assigned tasks and activities

  • Exposure to and/or basic knowledge of one or more student information system functional areas (e.g. Admissions, Campus Community, Student Records, Financial Aid, Academic Advisement, etc.)

  • Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases

Preferred

  • Experience with Oracle Campus Solutions/PeopleSoft experience in a university environment

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. The position is contingent upon funding with a minimum starting salary of $77,800 for Associate and $84,200 for Journey.
