Associate in Research 
Duke Identity and Diversity Lab / Dr. Sarah Gaither 
Department of Psychology and Neuroscience 
Overview 
Dr. Sarah Gaither is currently seeking a short-term, part-time Associate in Research to begin in May 2023. The Duke Identity and Diversity Lab conducts research on the relations among social identities (e.g., race, gender, socioeconomic status, etc.), perception, and behavior, as well as the emergence and change of social identity features across time. This position would be an excellent fit for an individual with research interests in systemic barriers that are experienced by individuals on a local to institutional scale who is looking to strengthen their research skills before applying to graduate school in psychology. The Associate in Research will help manage laboratory activities and conduct research on race, gender, and multiple identities. Tasks include but are not limited to: 
• Participating in meetings/sessions over Zoom 
• coding audio-recorded encounters 
• cleaning & analyzing data 
• assisting in general lab tasks 
This appointment is short-term and part-time for summer 2023. 
Preferred Qualifications: 
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related discipline 
• Skills in programs related to data analysis 
• Proficiency in Zoom 
• Experience conducting psychological research
