Job Title: Associate in Research

Department: Rohit Singh Lab, Duke Medical School

Summary:

The Rohit Singh Lab at Duke Medical School invites applications for an Associate in Research position. The successful candidate will assist in developing computational methods and algorithms for analyzing high-dimensional data, particularly single-cell genomics data. The position involves a blend of mathematical, statistical, and computational techniques, calling for a deep understanding of time-series analysis, stochastic calculus, and linear algebra.

Work Performed (Duties): 

- Assist in the development and implementation of computational methods and algorithms for the analysis of high-dimensional data, with an emphasis on single-cell genomics.

- Participate in data acquisition, analysis, interpretation, and visualization, ensuring the quality and integrity of data collected.

- Collaborate with the lab team and other research and clinical faculty at Duke University to accomplish research goals.

- Participate in the drafting and submission of scientific manuscripts, ensuring the rigorous documentation of methodologies and findings.

- Attend and participate in formal trainings, workshops, presentations, and lab meetings as requested.

- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Preferred Experience:

- Prior research experience in high-dimensional data analysis, particularly in single-cell genomics.

- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB, with a focus on data analysis, machine learning, and simulation purposes.

- Familiarity with computational genomics tools and databases.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, as well as independently, and to communicate complex ideas to individuals with various levels of expertise.

Min Education: Science related Masters Degree or Terminal Degree ( e.g.ScD., MD., DVM)

Other Requirement: Incumbent must be engaged in scientific research that requires a scientific leadership role, and not employed as a research staff member.
