Associate in Research in Deep Learning-Based Protein Design at Duke University 
The Programmable Biology Group ( ) at Duke University, led by incoming Professor Pranam Chatterjee, leverages deep learning-based protein design to develop the next generation of programmable tools for: 
Genome Editing: Targeted Protein Editing: 
Cell Engineering:  
In the immediate future, we seek to apply our deep learning-designed editors to correct disease-related mutations and to degrade pathogenic proteins for therapeutic purposes. Our long-term goals are to employ our novel cell engineering methods to generate functional gametes, as well as other ovarian cell types, from stem cells. 
To develop the next generation of biotechnology solutions, we seek motivated computer scientists with experience in the following areas: 
● Natural language processing (Transformers, seq2seq models) 
● Physics-based protein modeling (Rosetta, AMBER, etc.) 
● Generative algorithms (Diffusion, GPT algorithms) 
Overall, the ideal candidate will be excited to apply their computational expertise in new, innovative directions, and work with a dynamic team made up of both experimentalists and computer scientists!
