Research Associate in Therapeutics Design at Duke University The Programmable Biology Group (https://www.chatterjeelab.com/ ) at Duke University, led by incoming Professor Pranam Chatterjee, leverages deep learning-based protein design to develop the next generation of programmable tools for: Genome Editing: https://news.mit.edu/2020/nature-inspired-crispr-enzymes-expansive-genome-editing-0519 Targeted Protein Editing: https://news.mit.edu/2020/peptide-binds-covid-19-proteins-0622 Cell Engineering: https://wyss.harvard.edu/news/taking-the-guesswork-out-of-genetic-engineering/ In the immediate future, we seek to apply our deep learning-designed editors to correct disease-related mutations and to degrade pathogenic proteins for therapeutic purposes. Our long-term goals are to employ our novel cell engineering methods to generate functional gametes, as well as other ovarian cell types, from stem cells. To develop the next generation of biotechnology solutions, we seek motivated experimental biochemists with experience in one or more of the following areas:
