The Associate in Research will work multiple lab members on research projects focused on ex vivo disease modeling and the discovery of new therapeutic strategies. Specific responsibilities include conducting cell culture and disease models, drug screening, molecular and phenotypic analyses, and data analysis and visualization. Molecular level work include cell culture and related assays (viability assay, ELISA and qPCR). Prerequisites include experience with cell culture techniques and data analysis using software such as ImageJ, GraphPad Prism, and Ilastik, GraphPad Prism or similar programs. The Associate in Research will regularly present the results from their work at lab meetings. The Associate in Research will also work on another project simultaneously that will focus on cellular reprogramming. This study aims to identify essential transcription factors that are sufficient to induce transdifferentiation of multiple human somatic cell types into specialized epithelial cells. Experience with aseptic cell culture, molecular techniques like cloning, LV and AAV preparation, western blotting, and qPCR is required.
