Job Description:

The State University of New York (SUNY) System Administration, located in Albany, New York, is searching for an Associate Financial Analyst for capital and fixed asset reporting in the Office of the University Controller (UCO). 

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with data collection and reporting of University's Construction Projects on a quarterly and year end basis.
  • Monthly analysis and reporting for equipment activity with completion on monthly reconciliation processes.
  • Monitor and report Construction in Progress for capital program activity.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records for the preparation of the annual financial statements.
  • Prepare various financial reports requested by State University management.
  • Communication with University campus personnel and committees, other System Administration offices, and external New York State agencies related to capital reporting.
  • Assist with the development of software packages for reporting of capital assets and capital leases.
  • Improving reporting processes and assist with training campus community.
  • Balancing of day-to-day responsibilities and ad hoc requests for information and analysis.
  • Supervision of staff with the ability to collaborate, motive and assist team.


Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is required
  • Minimum of 2-5 years' experience in a higher education environment or financial administration is desired
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with spreadsheet packages, database packages, web applications and presentation software is required
  • Excellent analytical ability and oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively
  • Ability to manage a large set of data


Additional Information:

Salary: Minimum starting salary of $62,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Excellent fringe benefits.
